Did you know Berlin museum visits being at a record level ?

Statistics confirm the success: the museums, memorial sites and exhibition buildings counted 17,200,115 visitors in the year 2012. The amount of visitors thereby doubled in comparison to the year 1994. In 2012 there were 375 exhibitions shown in museums and memorial sites as well as further 242 ones shown in exhibition buildings (totally making 617 exhibitions) (Source: Senatskanzlei – Kulturelle Angelegenheiten)

City of theaters:

Berlin is having a long tradition in theater and a has a gorgeous supraregional reputation as well. The image is determined by a huge number of stages, theaters and dance groups as well as a broad variety to aesthetic expressions from all genres of the performing arts. 30 theater groups and theater dance groups are currently being funded by the state of Berlin. This includes four state theaters: Deutsches Theater/Kammerspiele, Volksbühne, Maxim Gorki Theater and Germany's largest children's and youth theater, the Theater am Parkaue. All the State theaters work with their own artistic ensembles.
